And we're off!! At about 4:30 pm, we have the girls in the back and the boys in front, and the bikes in the bed. Ready for a change of scenery, a nice vacation, and Kylie to meet Grandpa Byers for the first time.
Grandpa and Kylie hanging out by the big tree. She loved hanging out in the shade and getting some quality time with Frank (and Lucky)
Meanwhile, Tony and Lucky are catching up on old times. For those of you who don't know...Lucky came into our lives about 2 years ago. He was a stray, and 'chose' Jan & Frank to be his parents. Dan and I kept him for about a year, because our boys had such a strong bond with him. But after we found out Kylie would be joining us, we had to give him back to his original parents. Now, he's a happy little camper in Portland, but is always so excited to see his best friend, Tony!
Mother and Son. Thanks Jan and Frank for making such a handsome guy!
Cameras were going at all times. How could we not get a pic of Dan hard at work?
You know there's food around when all 5 poms are in the same room at one time. (Lucky's wise and is stading back a little.)
Waking up to a beautiful day in Vancouver, WA.
Frank takes great pictures with his awesomely high tech camera. Most of the pictures from this post were taken by him!
Jan working in her fabulously delicious garden.
Portland has a farmers markets every day of the week. We made it to two of them. This is one of the entrances to the main Portland FM. It was inspiring to see all the hand-crafted artwork, clothing and pottery. And so fun to people watch! Portland is so diverse and beautiful.
Kylie slept most of the time we were out and about.
Here are a few images of the amazing local produce...
...and flowers...
...and fruit...
...and baked goods.
These berry soda's were quite the hit at this Pearl Street Farmers Market. They had a few flavors, but our favorite was the Boysenberry.
Taking a break to feed Miss Kya.
And a snack break for the parents.
Back in the car seat, and ready to roll.
This flower shop had gorgeous flowers out front. We're blocking them in this picture, but they were so vibrant in color.
Monique's. (Dan has an Aunt Monique)
I love cities!
And we LOVE Noodle and Company. Wish they had one in Boise.
Our road trip was so much fun. Dan sold a few bikes, we ate some great food, and Kylie was in heaven being loved so much by her family. Check out her adventures in IKEA.
