You Learn Something New Every Day

We had been trying for a week or so to get her to take a pacifier. Seems like she's got it down! Check out the video.

Meeting Grandma & Grandpa Grove

Grandma and Grandpa Grove loved meeting their first grandchild too! They took advantage of this visit with some major bonding time. Grandma liked reading and singing to her, while Grandpa liked getting her to stick her tongue out at him.

Grandma Byers' First Visit

Grandma Byers was so excited to see her granddaughter. We did lots of fun activities, but mostly lots of holding and cuddling. Kylie was only 2 weeks old, and in true newborn fashion, slept most of the time. But when she was awake, we took full advantage of her cuteness with lots of photo-ops.
We liked these shots with the mirror reflection. Kylie loves being with both parents. As you can see, it brings a smile to her face. (Please excuse my tired look-I was still on pain medication.)

Dan had been looking for a BMX for his mom, and found this one! Unfortunately it turned out to be too big.
Uncle Paul stopped by for a visit too. And after admiring Kylie he had to say Hi to the boys.
These pictures were taken before one of our big outings. This was an adorable sweater Jan made for Dan when he was a baby. The buttons were fish, for Dan's zodiac sign, Pices. It fit Kylie like a glove and was the perfect piece to complete the outfit for this cool late summer day.
Dan was very careful with Kylie, at all times. What an awesome Daddy.
See the resemblence?
Here's Mommy checking on a sleeping baby.
Grandma enjoyed every minute with Kylie. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Home Sweet Home

Kylie's first week home was a blast! Mommy and Daddy were getting to know baby better and learning how to become professional diaper changers. We also become really great baby soothers and swaddlers.
Santa and Tony were adjusting to our new life with Kylie as well. Santa immediately took onto the role of big brother; protective and loving. While Tony, in his usual nature, took a little bit longer to warm up to her. We got this picture of him checking her out...from a distance.
Mommy loved bonding during nap time. And Daddy bonded over some play time. It was so cool to see her little personality develop.
We even caught a video of her moving to some music. Her first music video!

Happy Birthday Kylie!

At 5:03pm on May 20, 2oo9 we welcomed our daughter, Kylie Nicole Byers into the world. She was a healthy baby at 8lbs and 20 1/4 inches long. At 39 weeks into my pregnancy, she was delivered via cesarean section.

We were in a state of pure joy and happiness being able to finally hold our little bundle of love. How could you not fall in love instantly with this little beauty?
